Are you switched
on?
The Community Channel marked its third birthday
last September with a new three-year deal with BSkyB for coverage
on Sky digital (Channel 684) and an agreement to become a 24-hour channel.
The Community Channel is owned by The Media Trust, and funded
by the Government's Active Community Unit and the Lottery's Community
Fund.
It showcases 'social action' programmes from Granada, Carlton,
GMTV, Channel 4 and the BBC and gives community-made films from around
the UK a unique television outlet.
The Community Channel is also a resource for the voluntary
and community sector to use digital television to encourage people to
get involved in community activity, to access their services, volunteer,
and donate and buy charity goods.
You can tell the world about the wonderful work you've been
doing by sending in your pictures, videos and letters. This is a fantastic
way to appeal to volunteers, promote your cause and gain inspiration and
valuable advice from other charities and community groups.
