SPAN Parenting Support Awards

SPAN (Single Parent Action Network) is a multi-racial group of single parents working to improve the lives of one-parent families. They assist self help groups in developing parenting support and currently have grants of up to £1,000 available for groups of single parents in Derby to run parenting courses.

The grants can be used to:

• meet the needs of one parent families generally;
  
• provide more specialised support for parents with teenage children, parents from black and culturally diverse communities, teenage parents, parents with disabled children or parents who are disabled themselves; or
  
• focus on one parent families in a specific geographical area or to meet a specific need.
