The Big Picture
Very exciting news for youth action agencies! Next year has been named as The Year of the Volunteer, with February being themed as "Youth" month. To celebrate this, Youth Action Network will be holding a one-day national event for young people across England on Friday 25 February 2005 in central Birmingham. The aim of this event, titled "The Big Picture", is to:
- Promote the youth led approach to volunteering
- Give delegates practical ideas to take away with them about devising their own youth-led activities
- Involve young people in the marketing of youth volunteering to other young people across the country
The event will be for up to 100 delegates across England (of which at least 80 places will be for young people).
An offer you can't refuse?
We are looking for 6 groups of young people who've been involved in devising a youth action project to come along to the event and facilitate a workshop about their experiences and to give other young people ideas and inspiration to set up their own youth-led projects... We are offering agencies £100 each in return for this presentation/facilitation.
Full details of what's expected of workshop facilitators is attached - anyone interested will be asked to submit a proposal of how they will run the one hour workshop. Youth Action Network will then choose 6 to be invited along to the event to run their workshop and to receive £100 for their agency.
