Derby Community Network

Derby is one of 88 areas in the UK to receive Government funding in order to set up a Community Empowerment Network. Derby’s Network was launched in February 2003 and is called Derby Community Network (DCN).

DCN exists to lead, help and support voluntary and community sector involvement in Derby City Partnership (DCP), the Local Strategic Partnership for Derby. This is so that the voluntary and community sector can have a greater influence on the decisions that are made at DCP, which in turn will have an impact on local people’s and communities’ quality of life. DCN has two places on the DCP Board and ‘Champions’ who act as points of contact for DCN members are present on many of DCP’s sub-groups.

Membership of DCN is free and any voluntary or community group in Derby City can join. For more information contact the Community Network Development Officer or click here.
