Regeneration

Derby CVS is involved in providing direct support to communities and people who want to work in community organisations.

A key element of this work is our efforts to bring resources into neglected communities and strengthen their involvement in how the resources are used. We're involved in the New Deal for Communities (NDC) programme in the Derwent Ward and, as part of the Derby City Partnership, we work to involve voluntary organisations in the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB6) scheme for Normanton.

Taken together NDC and SRB are devoted to reducing crime, increasing economic activity, improving skills and education, promoting community leadership and involvement and improving health amongst the city’s most excluded citizens.
