Millennium Volunteers

Millennium Volunteers (MV) is a government programme that aims to encourage and support young people in voluntary activities.

MV for 16-24 year olds

Do you want to become a volunteer? Are you already volunteering and want to receive extra support? MV is the scheme for you. We can help find the right placement to suit your interests and skills. As a MV you can work towards certificates as recognition for your hard work. We'll also help with any expenses you incur as a volunteer, for example travel, equipment and childcare. For more information click here or contact the Millennium Volunteers Support Worker .

MV for organisations

We provide monetary support to organisations that support and supervise 16-24 year old volunteers. The money can be used to pay for things like volunteer’s training, the promotion of new voluntary opportunities or induction activities. We also offer free Managing Volunteers training. For more information contact the Millenium Volunteers Support Worker.

MV nationally

MV is a nationwide scheme funded by the Department for Education and Employment. It's run by local providers; for example volunteer bureaux, training companies or local authorities. Click here to visit the national website and find out more.
